About MeI paint botanical paintings, some in traditional style with a white background, others with coloured backgrounds. From an artistic family, my paintings are inspired by my love of the countryside, particularly the Mendip Hills. My chosen subjects are often wild flowers discovered whilst walking on the Mendips or found in local woodlands. Sometimes my work is inspired by a large flower such as a Paeony or Datura and can take up to four months to complete. My contract at the Black Swan Studio has now ended, and I am now painting at my studio at my home in Somerset. I also exhibit paintings and cards at the One Craft Gallery, Shepton Mallet.
See my Blog page for details of future exhibitions. I exhibit locally and nationally, and paintings have found homes in many countries abroad such as Australia and America. Venues in Britain include Central Hall, Westminster; The Vine in Basingstoke; Wells Cathedral; Glasnevin Botanical Gardens, Dublin; Stourhead in Wiltshire; Bowood House; the Bath Literary & Scientific Institute; Chichester; Ilminster; venues in Bath, Bristol, and Clevedon.
